Body Treatments offered at Pipestem Spa

Minerals, water, herbs, clay, mud and seaweeds are essential elements in any wellness program and are designed to revitalize your entire body. They will cleanse, hydrate, re-mineralize and improve skin texture while helping to flush out toxins.

All body wrap services are 50 minutes ($90) or 80 minutes ($130). If you are receiving the wrap for a medical reason, such as pain relief from arthritic joints, or to help decrease the side effects of chemotherapy, or you are need a more thorough detox treatment, we recommend the longer body wrap time to maximize the effectiveness of your product choice.

Most body wraps are performed in our Special Wet Room with European Vichy Shower. Client will be provided with disposable undergarments and will always be draped for warmth and modesty. The Wet Room has a special heating system that keeps the room about 80 degrees, so no matter what the weather is outside, you can relax and pretend you are on a warm, tropical island.

Most body wraps begin with French Dry Brushing, to "wake up the lymphatic system" and prepare your skin to absorb nourishment. Warmed seaweed, clay, and/or muds are then painted on and/or massaged into your skin and then you are loosely wrapped in a foil "space blanket" that helps to retain body heat. Towels and light blankets are then cocooned around the foil blanket to keep you warm. There is a pillow for your head and neck comfort, soft music and candlelight.

During a Body Wrap, our clients are NEVER left alone. You therapist stays in the room with you at all times and can adjust the warmth up or down, hold a cup of water (with a straw) for you and will give you a relaxing, aromatherapy scalp, neck, shoulder and facial massage. (You may also have a complete European Facial while you are wrapped, and this package includes a bubble bath or mineral soak after your wrap - Facial/Body Wrap and Soak Package - $150.)

At the conclusion of your wrap, the therapist will turn on the Vichy Shower (8 shower heads on the rain bar, and a hand held shower wand) and gently remove all traces of product from your skin manually, with water and exfoliation gloves. Your skin will feel polished and smooth, hydrated and clean, and you may feel lighter and slimmer.

Seaweed and Aloe Vera Body Wrap - Slimming. Seaweed has been treasured for its power to heal, rejuvenate and revitalize, and is especially good for rehydrating dry skin. Minerals from the sea can help jump start your immune system, penetrating into skin tissues, helping your body eliminate toxic waste trapped in fat and cellulite deposits. Wrap includes aromatherapy neck, scalp and facial massage and Vichy Shower.

French Green Clay Body Wrap - Detox. A clay body wrap is a profoundly relaxing and healing experience and it can help with relieving arthritis, rheumatism, muscle or joint pain, back problems, as well as sport injuries. This medical grade clay helps treat varicose veins, bruises, stretch marks, acne, eczema, and psoriasis. The results are remarkable. Wrap includes aromatherapy neck, scalp and facial massage and Vichy Shower.

Dead Sea Mud or Moor Mud Wrap - Deeply Relaxing and Purifying - Muds concentrate thousands of ancient plant extracts and provide a luxurious treatment that can be used for your full body, or for a localized area, such as tired legs and ankles. Great cellulite treatment, improves blood circulation, rehydrates tissues and can reduce itching caused by skin irritations within minutes. Wrap includes aromatherapy neck, scalp and facial massage and Vichy Shower.

Dead Sea Salt Scrub - Exfoliation - Full body is massaged with pure Dead Sea Salts then removed with steaming hot towels, or with the gentle rain of the Vichy Shower, followed by a light massage with a rich, rehydrating cream that allows the skin to feel like pure silk. (NOTE - We normally include a short Dead Sea Salt Scrub in most of our massage therapy treatments at no additional charge.)

We also have special Body Wraps that are done without the Vichy Shower and are meant to be ultra relaxing, hydrating and healing. These "cocoon type wraps" are performed on heated massage tables with soft music and candles. Clients are never left alone during a wrap and your therapist will adjust the temperature (up or down), provide water (through a straw) and give you a gentle head, neck, scalp and facial massage.

Herbal Linen Wrap - Soft linen blankets or sheets are steamed with detoxifying herbs, aloe vera, plant hydrosols, herbal extracts and essential oils, then cocooned around you with additional warm blankets while you relax on a heated massage table. Your therapist will never leave the room while you are wrapped. After the wrap, your skin will feel ultra soft and hydrated. Many notice that any aches and pains in their tissues and joints have melted away.

Milk and Honey Linen Wrap - This is the same treatment as the Herbal Linen Wrap, but with special minerals, milk and honey. This wrap is very soothing, and leaves the skin supper soft and supple. Wonderful for new mothers.
